I am sorry I am running out of time lately. We are trying to get the store finished, typical field work and accommodating vacation time. Every project takes longer the older I get... lol.
We have had beautiful days and cool evenings lately. Love the cooler nights! Tomatoes are starting to set, peppers are setting and sweet corn is imminent. Potato harvest starts this week!
We are planting a row of pole beans in straw as an experiment. We also planted some flowers using straw as a mulch. We are learning how to eliminate plastic from our production. It won't work for everything, but a few crops can be grown this way.
We are in the middle of pasture season. We need some rain, but they pastures look good!
Please order your pickle cukes this week. Cuke season will come to an end quickly and we always have some who want to wait... and we won't have the cukes.
I wanted to recognize my parents (Russell and Janet) 62nd anniversary. Mom still does all of our financial books and dad's health continues to be a challenge. He remains positive and always wants to know what is going on. For their anniversary he wanted a steak. I was blessed to play chef for their special dinner.
We are truly blessed to be surrounded by great people. The farm crew, our family, our friends and our community of supporters. Thanks to you all!
