Spring is sprunging!  We are a little wet in the field and we are experiencing the first run of weeds.  Chickweed and dandelions have sprung to life!

Work continues apace on the roof of the upper barn. We have had many rain breaks and the work has been slow.

Our friend Steve Schubert passed away this week.  Steve had early onset Alzheimer’s disease.  Several years ago, in the early part of his diagnosis, Steve helped build our greenhouse as well as dig and shape our raised beds.  We are going to dedicate a sitting area of our perennial garden to his memory.

We are offering a first of it’s kind event on our farm in a couple weeks.  We are offering a limited number of spaces for people to come to the farm and experience the cows going out to pasture this spring.  This will include a limited farm tour (we will stay out of the mud), a lunch and cows headed out to pasture.  We hope it dries out a bit before then.  Tickets are on sale now.

In the kitchen, Ellen has been working to make our rump roasts into sliced roast beef, that will be available on our online farm shop, at Williamsville Farmer’s Market and at the farm store.

Kent and Clay installed a large beam into the kitchen space, and will start to install flooring this week

We are truly enjoying the pullets.  They have started laying, and we have small pullet eggs!

Hannah and Eric have built out a new rhubarb patch and mulched it with straw.  They have also finished pruning the fruit trees and are starting field work.  The peas have emerged, garlic is moving along and we should have ramps and lovage on the next orders.

Have a wonderful Spring!
