Summer crops are starting to show up at market and in CSA boxes.  This week we have basil, tulsi basil, lemon basil, greens, beets with greens, dill, cauliflower, cukes, summer squashes, scallions, summer onions and the lettuces.  

We have half bushels of gherkin and pickle cukes up on the website.  There is also half bushels of basil for pesto for sale there.

We are pulling garlic today.  The garlic will be laid out on a bed of sawdust to cure inside our old barn.  Cured garlic will be available in a few weeks.  Green garlic will be at market.

The last of the greens for this year were seeded in the greenhouse this week.  They will be planted in 2-3 weeks, bringing to and end our planting season.  This timing coincides with field cleanup and mowing.  We are pulling our first covers, hoops and gleaning for the pigs.  

This is the pigs favorite time of year!  Mud baths, produce galore and sleeping.  Sounds pretty good!

We are busy and tired.  Summer is beautiful and fleeting.
