Our midsummers days are coming to life with summer crops.  Our Walla Walla sweet onions make their first appearance at market this week.  We have started to harvest green garlic and basil.  A couple weeks till sweet corn and the tomatoes are setting fruits.

This is the week for pickling cukes.  We are selling half bushels of cukes on the farmshop.  Buy there and select a pick up point.

Our Little Leaf picklers, pictured above, are a traditional pickler.  The are crisp with small or no seeds.

Our Gherkin Pickle Cukes are the farm favorite.  The spiny little wonders are the perfect pickle.

We get asked many times at market about pickling cukes as snacking cucumbers.  Pickle cucumbers are just cucumbers.  Wash the spines off and eat.  They are the best tasting cucumber for every use you may have.

Our sourdough starter has been a little finicky with the high temperatures and humidity.  For some reason this week's CSA breads didn't want to rise.  Clayton came to the rescue with some starter that has worked great for this weekend's bread.

Our online application for work is posted.  If you or someone you know is interested in helping us out with weeding help, fill it out and we will get in touch.  The weeds have been a little too aggressive this year...

Mowing pastures, moving the cows, weeding, harvesting and setting up sweet corn fence is taking the farm crew's time.  Putting an air conditioner into the kitchen this morning will be the important task for me today.  Come to market for some cucumbers and lively banter to enjoy on this warm summer week. Looking forward to seeing our friends and making new ones this week.
