Plant, weed, pick, bake repeat...

The season of growing is here in full glory.  The field is filling up quickly.  Winter squash, succession plantings and storage crops are getting planted.  Tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, basil and other frost sensitive crops are now in the field.

Hay season is here.  Joe Siler from Yankee Beef harvests and delivers our haylage.  The pile of feed is compressed by driving on it with a heavy tractor and then sealed with a tarp.  The feed ferments and is then fed all winter long.

Our first week of CSA deliveries is under our belt.  This week we do Buffalo and Suburbs North.  Be patient with us as we try to be organized and do a good job.  This year we have taken on a larger load as our ranks have expanded.  That having been said, I only made a couple of errors...

For markets this week we will have chard, kale, limited lettuces, garlic scapes and a few other goodies.  It feels like our crops are taking forever to come along...

There are a few plants available at our farm stand still.  The tomatoes and peppers look great!  This is the last weekend for plant availability.

Grif has taken on the challenge of a Farm Zine for us.  Included in CSA shares and available by request to our Market Share customers at farmer's markets.  We have such and artistic and talented staff!

Our staff continues to do great work.  If you see them at market on or deliveries give them a pat on the back.  They get tired this time of year and it takes a lot of dedication to meet the demands of crops, harvests, animals and customers.  I appreciate them and I hope you do to.
