We are hoping that the last of the cold, wet spring will be past us by next week.  This Sunday still has a chance of frost.  The weather has put us a bit behind.  I hope it will have dried enough by Monday to plant a lot and catch up.  Beets, a new asparagus bed and the next corn planting all need to get into the ground.

This coming Wednesday will be the last of our offseason deliveries.  The following delivery will be the first of the CSA deliveries in the northern areas and weekly deliveries for the Buffalo Area which will happen on June 11.  The Southtown's CSA delivery will be on June 18.  The Buffalo Area will get a weekly delivery while the town and rural areas will be on a biweekly schedule.

We hope that Strawberries will be available by the second week of June.

For markets this week we will have: Rhubarb, asparagus, spinach, kale, spring herbs and our usual other things.  Our first lettuces are still about 2-3 weeks away.

The Heritage Kitchen at the Williamsville Market will have cured bacon, bresaola, whole wheat sourdough and regular sourdough bread, English muffins, rhubarb puffy and brownies.  We will have chocolate and strawberry milk pints.

The cows have made it to pasture full time after a bit of a break to hopefully get us past the mud.  Fence fixing and walking our lines takes a fair bit of time.  We always have some broken posts, downed fence wires and trees that have fallen over the line.

We are grazing the chicken areas with cattle this week.  Multi species grazing are great to break disease cycles, pest cycles and to keep the grass from overgrowing the areas.  We also mow after moving the birds so that the new growth is lush.

One of the cool things that Eric built over winter was  suspended roosts for our new pullets/layers.  The roosts can be moved out of the way to clean making clean up much faster and easier.  The roosts are bird approved!

The rain has also allowed us to clean and maintenance the greenhouse and get a few plants ready to sell next week.  We have potted up a few tomato and pepper plants.  We will post when they will be at the farm stand.

Work continues apace at the kitchen hoping to finish the interior work next week.  From there we install equipment and appliances.
