This week we officially hit the,"We are tired of plowing , walking on ice, cold wind and 45 days straight of snow."

I have started looking forward to the warmer days and sunshine of spring.  Last week the greenhouse started to warm up with the sun.  By this time next month we will be planting.

We have our February produce box up on the farmshop, with a "VALENTINE" promo code for free delivery.  Orders are due by Monday 9:00 am for a Wednesday delivery.

We also have special meat box combos up for the month.  Wide selection of beef, chicken, pork and lamb.

Don't forget the bread, brownies and baked goods for some wintertime comfort.

Jenny and I are working like mad people on the kitchen and hope to have it ready to be finished within 8-10 weeks.  The grouting, caulking, plastering, and trim work is being done. Next is equipment placement and wiring.  Unfortunately for us,  this work is taking precedence over travel this year.

The crew is in Vermont this weekend attending the NOFA-VT Annual Conference.  NOFA-NY has changed their format and they decided to try out the VT Conference.  I think they were missing Griff as well and wanted to spend some time catching up.

We have made the long put off decision to raise egg prices.  Our egg prices have been at $7/dozen for 4 years.  This year we are faced with increased costs including cartons, feed, pullets and taxes.  We have raised our price to $8/dozen retail.  Looking at Tops, Wegmans and the Coops we see we are price is competitive with other organic/pastured eggs and are comfortable with the decision.  Good eggs are not easily done and they are costly.

Prices will be going up across the board with beef, chicken, pork and vegetables.  We will keep the prices as low as we can, but this year's cost environment is unforgiving.  Every cost center we have has increased significantly as we have purchased this year's inputs.

To ignore the cost increases only puts the burden of the costs increases on our labor and family.  This is not fair to the people side of our business.  We are a small group that includes growing families and long term commitments to uphold.  We are already very efficient, and believe that experience and expertise deserve their due pay.  I hope that you will continue to support all of us as we try to run a healthy and health giving business.  If we aren't healthy financially, our mission of the "The best food from people who care" will be compromised.  Thanks for your continued support.
