We have had a little too much rain in the last month and it has really affected the crops. We got late blight in the tomatoes. This will end the heirlooms and grapes for the season. As of now we will have some plums/Romas for canning but the plants have died back. The Mountain Magic campari's are ok. Some of the slicers are also resistant and will come through.
This will shorten our tomato season for this year unfortunately.
Pepper season has arrived and we should have lots of peppers until frost. The plants are loaded and the colors are really starting to shine. Don't be afraid of using the Mountain Magic tomatoes in your salsa recipes.
Sweet Corn has 3 more weeks if the worms don't get too bad. As of now the corn looks really good. After a rough start, we have had 6 really good plantings of corn that we have kept the raccoons out of.
