Newsletter 06/07/2024

This is kickoff week for our Home Delivery CSA and the start of the biweekly delivery areas for our Plato Dale Farmshop deliveries.  

In general, Week #1 will be areas of  South Buffalo, Suburbs and Southtowns including Cheektowaga, Lancaster, Elma, Alden, West Seneca, Blasdell, Hamburg, Lake View, Eden, Orchard Park, West Falls, East Aurora, Glenwood, Arcade and Wyoming County. 

Week #2 will be Buffalo Proper, Black Rock, North Buffalo, Kenmore, Grand Island, Tonawanda, Williamsville, Amherst, Northern Suburbs and Corfu.

Weekly subscribers will receive their shares weekly.

We have a few greens for this weeks markets and CSA.  We will have some romaine, chard, tatsoi and a couple other things.

This week we planted a nice succession of greens, cukes, squash and next is winter squash.  The rain and cold slowed us down the last couple days, but it helped us catch up on weeding!

Eric spent much of the week mowing fence lines and fixing fence for the next rotations.  He was very unlucky to find a broken fence wire down while mowing.  Very frustrating, as he had to cut several hundred feet of wire out of the flail mower.

This week's meat special is shanks and pot roasts.  Get the smoker going and slow down the grill.  Slow cooked pot roast with veggies makes for an amazing and hearty dinner!
